The Best Way to Cook Brown Rice
I almost always cook brown rice instead of white. I even use it in my rice pudding. Why miss out on all the extra fiber and nutrients? I understand though why some people have a hard time making the switch – with some methods of cooking brown rice can end up chewy and sticky and just, well, not very yummy!
The most common way that I’ve seen for cooking any kind of rice is to put 1 cup of rice in 2 cups of water, bring the water to a boil, and then cover and let it simmer until the water is all absorbed.
However, it’s my opinion that if you use the above method with brown rice it won’t turn out as well as it could. (Or maybe I’m just really bad at cooking it that way – that is always a possibility!) 😉
I’m convinced that the method I’m about to tell you is definitely the best way to cook brown rice on the stove. Don’t believe me? Try it and see what you think!
