Hi friends! We are officially half-way through 2019! Crazy huh? Every year goes by faster than the last!
Since we’re right at the half-way mark I thought that now would be a good time to look back at my goals for 2019 and check how I’m doing.
Here we go!
2019 Mid-Year Goals Check-In
Write one hand-written note/letter/card a week.
Oh boy, I kind of forgot about this goal – I think I only kept it up until part-way through February. Oops! I love this goal though so I’m going to get back to doing this, starting today!
Read 18 books this year.
I’m on track to meet and surpass this goal, yay!
Here are the books I’ve read so far:
(all links are affiliate links)
- More Than Just Making It
- Born Survivors (The incredible true story of three women who survived the Holocaust pregnant!)
- A Simplified Life
- A Wrinkle in Time (This one had been on my list for forever!)
- Cozy Minimalist Home
- The Masterpiece
- Taken (I ended up skimming the second half of this one – the story really dragged!)
- The Austen Escape
- Freedom’s Light (Not a favorite, ha!)
- Christy (This was a re-read. LOVE this book!)
- The Mission of Motherhood
Start each day with a devotional reading.
I’ve been LOVING Paul David Tripp’s devotional New Morning Mercies this year. It has been such an encouragement to me many days. I definitely recommend it!
Wipe out my fridge before putting in new groceries each week.
I haven’t done this every single week but I’ve been pretty consistent about it. It’s so nice having a clean fridge and since I’m wiping it out regularly it never gets super bad. Definitely a habit I plan to keep up!
Use my nice things regularly.
What I said about this goal in my original post:
I’ve realized lately that I have lots of nice things that I don’t use often enough. My nicer dishes, my favorite clothes, etc. So, instead of always saving things for a “special occasion” (and ending up hardly ever using them) I’ve decided that I want to enjoy them now!
I’ll admit, I haven’t done this as much as I should but I do try. I pull out my fancier dishes every Wednesday afternoon for a tea party with the kids which is fun!
Get back to my pre-third-baby weight.
I’m not too far away, but I haven’t reached this goal yet. Probably has something to do with the amount of sugar and carbs I’ve had lately, to be completely honest. I really need to buckle down and do better with healthy eating. (If you’ve been successful at this give me all your tips in the comments!)
Spend focused one-on-one time with each of my kids each week.
I posted on Instagram a few weeks ago about how we were working to have more one-on-one time with our kids. We modified our original plan a bit and what’s working now is that we try spend some one-on-one time with the kids before bedtime two nights a week. One night I’ll spend a little time with Sofia while Pablo is with Caleb and then the next night we’ll switch (Lucas is already in bed at this point.) We’ve had nights where things come up and it doesn’t work (or we forget!) but our goal is to get more consistent with doing it regularly.
Double my blog’s pageviews for the year.
I’m on track to more than triple my blog’s views this year so I’m pretty excited about that!
Well, that wraps up my 2019 mid-year goals check-in. Did you make some goals back in January? Now is a great time to take a look back and see how you’re doing!
