Hi friends!
I just finished reading The Magnolia Story (book review coming soon!) and I loved Joanna’s emphasis on learning to thrive in each stage, not just when you’ve gotten to exactly where you want to be in life or whatever.
The stage of life I’m in right now is wonderful in so many ways. Having a two year old and an almost-one year old is definitely an adventure, that’s for sure. Just for fun, I decided to make a list of a few things that I love and know I’ll miss once this stage is over. Once I started it was hard to stop! Here’s my list: (FYI, it’s all about my kids!)
I love . . .
- the way Caleb pronounces a lot of things right now , like “save for lay-lay” (later), “polka-nots” (polka-dots), and “Fofia” (Sofia)
- the hilarious excuses he makes – “me too tired to _____”, “my tummy neeeeds icecream/lollypop/etc.”
- the way Sofia looks up to Caleb
- the way Caleb gets joy out of the littlest things . . .
. . . like this winter-hat party
. . . or this pepperoni creation which he said is “Mike” (from Monsters Inc.) haha
- how Sofia says “WOOOOOW” (her first word after dada and mama; very fitting if you know her)
- the silly faces Sofia is always making
- how Caleb announces “Time to play Mama!” and says “Tada!” when he does something he’s proud of
- the high pitched voice Sofia uses when she sees her baby doll (which she LOVES!)
- how Sofia sucks her wrist and holds onto her ear when she’s tired
- how Sofia snuggles her head into my shoulder and cuddles (It’s so much fun having a cuddly baby!!!)
- Caleb’s facial expression when he gets to have a treat
- how fast Sofia crawls when I’m chasing her
- how Caleb loves to listen to me read books before naps/bedtime
- the way Caleb runs to pick every flower he sees
- the way Caleb dances
- how Sofia waves her arms to music
- that my kids still take awesome naps 😉
What do you love about the stage of life you and/or your kids are in? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!
