Hey friends!
I thought it would be fun to start doing a blog post at the end of each month to kind of review the past month. I used to do something similar back when I was new to blogging but it’s been awhile.
In these monthly posts I’ll just chat about what’s been going on in our lives and here on the blog and I’ll share some pictures and favorites from the month.
Just so you know: when I share favorites here on the blog I often use affiliate links. Should you choose to purchase something through a link, I get a small kickback at no extra cost to you. Just FYI! 😉
New schedule, new routines
This past month was an adjustment month for me because Pablo has a new work schedule now and my day with the kids is a bit longer than it used to be. It took some getting used to for sure but I’m happy to say we’re starting to fall into more of a routine now, especially in the mornings. I still need to figure out a better after-naps routine though, especially for the 5 – 6:30 pm time when we’re waiting for Pablo to get home. (It’s just a rough time of day!) Suggestions are welcome. 😉
This month we firmly cemented a few new weekly routines that the kids are loving. On Wednesdays we have an after-nap tea party, complete with candles and fancy dishes. Fridays is pizza and family movie night, and Saturday morning I make pancakes or waffles. Having these special routines to look forward to has been so fun for the kids – they get so excited!
My teaching job
I just wrapped up my second full month of teaching with VIPKID and I’m loving it as much as ever! I can’t say how grateful I am to have found a way to contribute to our family’s finances while still staying home with the kids. Pablo is actually finishing up the hiring process to teach with VIPKID as well! He hopes to teach a class or two in the early mornings before I do.
All things blog
This past week I did my first ever email series for those of you who are on my blog’s email list. Not on my list? Sign up here! It was a 5 day series talking about simple ways we can love our kids well. It was so good for me to write because it really got me thinking and I plan to continue working on the things that I wrote about.
I also published four new posts here on the blog this past month. If you missed any of them I’ll link to them below!

Here’s a very random hodge-podge of things that I’ve been loving lately!
1) Hummus from Aldi
Pablo and I recently discovered a new hummus at Aldi called “significantly spicy” and we LOVE it. Make sure to stir it well before serving if you want all of it to be spicy. We enjoy it with tortilla chips although the healthy choice would be veggies, ha!
2) The Beginner’s Bible
The kids were gifted this Bible story book this month and have been LOVING it. It’s been around for awhile so a lot of you probably know about it or have it but I still wanted to mention it. We won’t use it exclusively (it doesn’t point as clearly to the gospel as some other children’s Bibles do) but it’s a great resource learning about all of the more well-known Bible stories.
3) California Design Den Bed Sheets
I’ve mentioned before about how much I LOVE these bed sheets and right now you can win your own set! Head over to my Instagram to enter! (Seriously, go do it because you need these sheets in your life!)
Also, if you want to purchase some sheets for yourself you can get 10% off right now with the code MOMCDD10 – click here if you’re interested.
4) Ultimate Homemaking bundle
It’s that time of year again! The 2019 version of the Ultimate Homemaking bundle is for sale today through Monday!
If you’ve been keeping up with me for awhile you may remember me talking about this bundle last year. It’s a collection of homemaking-related resources that goes on sale for 6 days, once a year, and it’s a completely new collection every year.
I like to promote the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle to you guys because it’s something that I purchased (last year and this year) and I feel like it has a lot of value.
