I need a little encouragement today as we’re starting another week at home – and I suspect that some of you might too. So I’m going to speak some truth to myself today and you’re welcome to listen in!

Another week at home has started. I know that many of us are longing for the return of normal. Or maybe wondering if normal will ever completely return.
It’s easy to get sucked into the news, reading one article after another, or browsing Facebook and seeing everyone and their brother’s opinions of what’s going on right now.
Maybe you’re scared that you or an immunocompromised family member is going to get sick. Maybe you’re anxious about the financial situation you’ve found yourself in. Or maybe you’re worried about government overreach. Maybe it’s something else.
Whatever the case, your fears are valid my friend. But let’s not give in to fear this week. Instead, let’s remind ourselves of truth.
Encouragement from the Bible for another week at home
God hears and answers prayer
Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know. (Jer. 33:3)
O Lord my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me. (Ps. 30:2)
O Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble;
You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear. (Ps. 10:17)
So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (Luke 11:9)
God is always with us
Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand . . . .
For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand,
Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you. (Is. 41:10,13)
. . . For He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you.” (Heb. 13:5)
God will provide
The steps of a man are established by the Lord,
And He delights in his way.
When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong,
Because the Lord is the One who holds his hand.
I have been young and now I am old,
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
Or his descendants begging bread. (Prov. 37:23-25)
And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:19)
God alone gives true peace
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:6-7)
The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace,
Because he trusts in You. (Is. 26:3)

These are unprecedented times and it’s normal to feel unsettled and anxious. But let’s not let those feelings control us this week. Let’s give our burdens over to God who is more that strong enough to carry them for us.
He’s got the whole world in His hands. We’re definitely going to be okay.
Love you guys! Thanks for stopping by the blog today. 🙂
