Today’s post – my top gifts for young moms – was so much fun to come up with! And no, I didn’t write this as a “hint hint” to my husband (he’s already really good at knowing what I like!) I just thought this would be a fun post since the holiday season is quickly approaching.
Whether you need some ideas for your young mom friends, or for yourself (because if you’re like me you draw a blank when asked for gift ideas) I’ve got you covered!
My Top 10 Gifts For Young Moms
I can think of a lot of favorite gifts for young moms and could probably make quite a long list, but here are my very best gift ideas for the moms in your life. These would make great gifts for Christmas, a birthday, mother’s day, or another special occasion.
1. Subscription
A subscription is a fun and unique gift to give a young mom. Let’s face it, a fun subscription box or a subscription to a beautiful magazine isn’t usually top priority in a mom’s budget, so it can make a really fun and special gift.
What is your mom friend interested in? Whatever it is, there’s probably a subscription box for it.
Here are a few ideas. (FYI – I’m not an affiliate for any of these subscriptions – just sharing them for fun!)
Candle subscription
What about gifting your mom friend with a new candle in the mail every month? I think this is such a fun gift idea! I’ve received several Vellabox candles in the past and each time they were such a fun thing to get in the mail.
Check out the Vellabox subscription options here!
Coffee subscription
The idea of trying out different coffees every month is so fun! (And let’s be honest, a mom with a new baby probably wants all the coffee she can get!) Here are comparisons of some of the top coffee subscription boxes.
Fab Fit Fun box
Fab Fit Fun is one of the first things that comes to mind when I think of subscription boxes. Maybe because they’re all over Instagram. Anyway, just one of these boxes would make a fun gift.
Magazine subscription
Magazines are a fun “extra” that don’t fit in everyone’s budget, so receiving them as a gift can be such a fun surprise!
A couple years ago my sister got me a subscription to the Magnolia Journal and I loved getting it in the mail every quarter! It’s such a high-quality magazine with amazing content. I definitely thought it was a very thoughtful gift.
2. Oil diffuser or nice candle
Something that smells good is always a good gift in my opinion!
An oil diffuser was on my wish list for awhile and was gifted to me by my sister-in-law a few years back. Nothing makes your house feel homier than a lovely scent wafting through the air and diffusers are supposed to be a healthier option than candles (although don’t get me wrong, I do love my candles!)
I own this pretty diffuser from Amazon – it comes with eight oils so it’s perfect for people like me who don’t already have oils. It’s not large but it’s perfect for what I need and has worked well for me for several years now.
Last year my sister gifted me one of these Antique Candle Co. candles and it was my very favorite candle. I finally used it up this year and am sad about it haha. They’re a little pricey but I can vouch for their quality.
3. Instant Pot or other kitchen appliance
Instant Pots continue to be popular and for good reason – everyone likes saving time in the kitchen! I have heard SO many moms rave about their instant pots. I have yet to get one myself because I have limited storage space in my kitchen, but in the future I think it would be an amazing time saver.
Another fun kitchen appliance to gift a mom is an air fryer. Pablo got one for me last year and it’s great for lots of different things! This is the one I own.

4. Book
Ok, don’t laugh at this suggestion. I am well aware that reading time can be hard to come by as busy moms. But if you or the young mom in your life can snatch a few moments to read, here are a few book suggestions that would make fantastic gifts for young moms.
I so enjoyed reading this book by Sally Clarkson earlier this year! It would make a wonderful gift for a young mom or really any woman who wants to make her home more inviting and life giving. Grab it here or go read my review.
Walking With God in the Season of Motherhood
I always recommend this devotional so I’m sorry if it’s getting repetitive haha! But if you already have it, buy it for a friend! It’s such a good book.
The Inspired Room: Simple Ideas to Love the Home You Have
This book is beautiful to page through and gives great ideas for “loving the home you have.” I own it and have really enjoyed it.
Think your mom friend isn’t a reader? What about an audible subscription? With audible you can listen your way through amazing books while you work around the house or during your long work commute. Yay for multi-tasking!

5. Something “mom” specific
It’s harder to shop for yourself when you’re a young mom because, well, kids. That makes this adorable mama shirt the perfect gift! Look how cute it is! Just make sure to size up for this one because it says it runs small.
Another great option for mom-related gifts is to browse Etsy. They have some of the cutest jewelry, clothes, and other gift items and lots of things are customizable. I’ve purchased several gifts for other moms from Etsy and have always been very pleased.
Finally, a new diaper bag is a great mom gift that is also practical and sure to be appreciated.
6. Planner
Every mama needs a good planner. I’ve used a Happy Planner for several years now and absolutely love it. (Pro tip: if you buy your mom friend a Happy Planner, be sure to grab her some fun planner stickers to go along with it!)
7. Something comfy to wear
A long chunky cardigan like this one would make a great gift. Comfy? Check! Stylish? Check! And who can’t use a nice, neutral cardigan?
Comfy pjs or a cute lounge set are always a great gift in my opinion as well. Us moms love comfy clothes!
8. Chocolate
Did you think I could make a list of top gifts for young moms without including chocolate? Of course not. Chocolate is a must you guys. Grab some at any store or add a bag of chocolates to your Amazon order. It’s a gift that’s always sure to please.
9. Cozy “comfort” items
Blanket
Gift an extra fluffy and cozy blanket – or a weighted blanket – or even a heated blanket. You can never have too many blankets.
Slippers
I don’t know about other moms, but I wear through my slippers pretty fast, so a new pair is always a thoughtful and appreciated gift.
Foot Massager
Want to really pamper a mom in your life and help her relax at the end of a long day? Get her a foot massager! (I feel more relaxed just looking at this one.)
Basket filled with cozy gifts
Think bath bombs, lotion, a sleep mask, fuzzy socks, water bottle, nipple balm (for new moms), etc.
10. A plant
I love plants and they make lovely gifts. If your mom friend doesn’t have much of a green thumb or just doesn’t want the trouble of a real plant, there are lots of artificial plants that are very beautiful.
Bonus gift ideas:
I keep thinking of more gift ideas so here are a few more!
- Gift card – Be sure to gift it along with a heartfelt message for a more personal touch.
- An indoor herb garden – Probably not for everyone, but definitely a great gift idea for those who love cooking with fresh herbs!
- A nice alarm clock – I own and love this one!
