Wondering what yummy Christmas treats you should bake this year? Here’s what’s on my list!

I love baking, especially at Christmas time.
I have my regular recipes that I always make at Christmas but this year I thought it would be fun to try a few new ones along with a few of our trusty favorites.
This morning while I drank my coffee I hopped on Pinterest to browse through all the Christmas cookies and treats. So many yummy looking options!!!
Supplies to Gather for Christmas Baking
There’s nothing worse than starting to make something in the kitchen and realizing part way through that you’re out of a crucial ingredient. So frustrating!
So, as I was browsing Christmas treats on Pinterest I grabbed a pen and paper and kept a running list of the different ingredients I knew I’d need to pick up before starting my Christmas baking.
Basic ingredients: Do I have enough flour, sugar (white and brown), butter, eggs, etc. on hand?
Specialty ingredients: Do these recipes call for anything I don’t usually keep in my pantry (ie: special candies, food coloring, nuts, sprinkles, etc.)?
Baking materials: Do I need more wax paper? Are my cookie cutters still usable after being used for play-doh all year?
Once I have all my ingredients and materials on hand, it’s time to start baking!
Here’s the baking list that I came up with for this year!
The Yummy Christmas Treats I’m Making This Year
Andes Mint Cookies
This recipe is from my friend Kate over at Chasing Vibrance. Every time I’ve seen her share this recipe I’ve thought man I need to make those so this year I’m finally going to!
I decided that I want to make a red cookie and a green cookie this year, so for this recipe I plan to use just green sprinkles on top (and lots of them) and they’ll count as my green cookies. 🙂
Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies
These are the red cookies I chose to make this year! I’ve actually never made red velvet anything but I have high hopes that these are going to taste amazing. They definitely look yummy!
Easy Saltine Toffee
My favorite thing about this saltine toffee is just how easy it is to make. Well, and also how good it tastes. Let me warn you, people call this stuff “Christmas crack” for a reason!
It’s a great treat to make and package up really cute for an easy gift that’s sure to be a hit!
Fantasy Fudge
This easy recipe for fudge calls for marshmallow fluff and it’s AMAZING.
I tasted fantasy fudge for the first time at a home where I was babysitting years ago and I kept snitching it because it was so good! So yeah, if you need a gift idea for your babysitter, make her this fudge and she’ll love you. Haha.
Regular Christmas Cut-out Cookies
Is it really Christmas if you don’t make Christmas cut-out sugar cookies??
My kids love helping me with these cookies and as you can see from the picture below their creations are always very icing and sprinkles heavy haha.
I can’t find a link to the actual recipe I use but I linked a very similar looking one above!
So, that’s what I’m planning to make this year! What about you, what yummy Christmas treats do you HAVE to make every year? Let me know in the comments!
